Orange Hills Restaurant
February 4, 2008
A month ago, my dad and I booked a reservation at Orange Hills in Orange County to celebrate my mom’s 46th birthday ![]()
Since we’ve never really done “fine dining” or been to any fancy restaurant, we decided to give it a shot since she’s always coo-ing over the ones in the movies.
Orange hills was really nice. I really enjoyed it. You could see the restaurant from about five miles away. It’s situated ontop of a hill, with pretty lights surrounding it. Valet parking, waitors in tuxes, dim lights, perfect place for a couple..not so much a family but that’s okay. My mom enjoyed it
The place looks nice in the pictures but it’s nowhere near how it looked in real life.
We had a window seat so I could see the balcony and all the bonfire places on the balcony and all of orange county and LA lit up
Here’s the website if any of you are interested

the place exceeded my expectations.

for dinner, we ordered one bowl of french onion soup, a plate of caesar salad, and for main dishes: seasonal salmon, filet mignon, duo of lamb.

filet mignon. sorry, it’s dark.
the wine sauce was very yummy

that’s the end of my lovely adventure at orange hills.
if you really want to do something once in a life time&forever memorable, i definitely recommend it!
but if you’re hungry and are looking for food, then go to in-n-out!

A Cantalope based smoothie
July 1, 2007
Hello.
And Welcome to Sumo’s Cafe. (:
Today’s specialty is a fruity cantalope inspired smoothie.
Because sumo’s mommy won’t let her eat watermelon, Sumo had to use a substitute.
This is the first smoothie that is based on another melon/fruit besides watermelon.
Ingredients:
-1/4-1/2 of a cantalope chopped into small squares (I guess it depends on the size of your cantalope)
-3/4 small bowl of grapes (doesn’t matter if you use green grapes or purple grapes)
-1 banana(if you want a banana flavor) otherwise, half a banana is fine.
-1 cup of water because cantalope, unlike watermleon isn’t as juicy and watery. In watermleon based smoothies, don’t add water.
-ice cubes (but I didn’t add this because mommy wont let me eat cold stuff)
makes: 4 servings (mommy, daddy, leo and i )

put your fruits in the blender (:

Bon appétit!
Thank you for stopping by today folks.
Unfortunately that’s all the time we have today.
Keep on watching What Sumo’s Cooking and visit her cafe again!
First day of summer school
June 18, 2007
I saw some people. Somehow, after not seeing Steven for one week, I didn’t even recognize him.
Anyways SRC was okay. (: At least I have friends in there, yayy!
Gomez is kind of intimidating and for some reason, his syllabus seems really strict.
And he’s the total opposite of Donee.
Donee’s UCLA but Gomez is USC ftw!
But other than that, I thought today was kind of boring.
Tried not to yawn, tried not to doze off (though I did), tried to finish my autobiography but I just hate writing those so much.
Then I walked home.
And I found a happy meal in front of my house! (: My first happy meal.

My first happy meal!
So cute!
Thank you, Michael! (: So thoughtful (: yay.
And then I also made pasta.
Oh. I didn’t make president.
): Oh well.
I guess, I won’t be stressed though it would’ve been fun.
Secretary, it is! (I hate taking notes -.-)
I cooked father’s day dinner
June 18, 2007
(: So today I made dinner.
my mommy only told me how much salt&water to add
i cut everything and cooked everything (:
-soup
-pork
-a simple salad with sesame dressing
-cucumber+green bell peppers+egg
I think the soup and pork were the highlight of dinner (:
My parent’s favorite.
It was yummaylicious (:
and I’m really proud of myself because: a) i only burned myself once b) the house is still standing c)nothing caught on fire d) i still have ten fingers

overall picture. the closest thing is the salad..then the red-brown is the pork and the pot with the lid on is the soup and the other green and yellow dish is the bell pepper plate (:

the soup. this was THE BOMBB! ![]()
the bell pepper dish… i personally don’t like it cause i dont like bell peppers and i think it looks ugly and my mom said i overcooked the egg a little. it became 老了…haha PERSONIFICATION
do you likee my hard work? (:
I’m so proud of myself! haha!
yayyy now when I’m stranded at college, i won’t diee (hopefully) :D anddd i can now cook for my future husband! (:
