San Francisco Day 1

For those of you who don’t know, Peter and I are taking/took a trip to San Fran/Davis/nor cal with his parents. Today (friday) was officially our first day in nor cal.

First, we went to visit Peter’s sister up in Davis. We passed by UC Davis, Sacramento, Los Banos (the bathroom) and Hollister, CA. :)
After visiting them shortly, we went to vacaville and did a little shopping. We bought two slow cook pots, one for his godmother and one for his sister’s family. We also wrapped them with yellow tissue paper and did a poor job.Anyways..onto something more interesting.

We drove from Davis to San Fran and went on this one bridge and also the bay bridge. This was my first time going on bridges before. The last time I was in nor cal was when I was really small and we didn’t dooo anythinggggg. But anyways, I really did get a good taste of San Fran well. After missing our exit, we got off and just drove locally. I started taking alot of pictures. Everything seemed so different. The houses were older looking and alot of them were victorian styled. Just from driving, I saw the bay. It’s funny because I never knew that nor cal was called the bay area. The last time I was there, we did nothing to the point where I didn’t even see water! (peter says the sentence doesn’t make sense…but you get my drift).

We got to his godparent’s house and saw their two pomeranians, da bao (which is also my cousin’s name) and xiao bao. The house is crazy. It’s 5 stories and there’s an elevator style just like the elevators in Titanic (old fashioned with the black bars/gate) and there was a titanic poster inside the elevator so yeah..the elevator is totally modeled after titanic. Anyways, Peter and I took that elevator a bunch of times and went up to the roof, where they had a gazebo, lots of flowers AND WHERE YOU COULD SEE ALL OF SAN FRAN. And I mean, all. from their rooftop, you could see the bay, the palace of fine arts, the steep hills…EVERYTHING. SOOO PRETTY.

I’m in love with San Fran now. I love how it’s “old” and how the houses are closer and smaller and it just reminds me of hawaii.

We went to lunch and atee way too much. 2 pounds of fresh shrimp, lobster, dim sum, and other dishes. Because Peter and I finished eating earlier than the others, we walked down to the beach (only 3 minute walk from the restaurant). The beach was really nice. We didn’t go in the water but we just stood in the sand and felt sand between our toes. Took lots of pictures with unique poses.

After lunch was when our adventure really began.

First, we went to the golden gate park. The park is really big with a huge lake, lots of ducks and trees/greenery. Uhh Peter and I rented a padle boat and we went padle boating for an hour. Honestly, it was so cute because it was just us two and it was so romantic. There weren’t alot of people boating but yeah…we were just by ourselves, surrounded by water and ducks. They also had like a bridge in the middle of the lake and it made things even cuter. It really seemed like a clip from the movies. It really reminded me of Notebook when Noah took Allie row boating and there were lots of ducks and trees and stuff. Basically, we did the exact same thing except we padle boated instead. Maybe we should have row boated…peter wanted to row boat but I wanted to padle so we padled. It was a good work out for our legs! A bird flew on our boat haha. I can’t steer. We saw a really weird bird. There were also baby ducks the size of toy rubber duckies. Anyways, this was my favorite part of the day.

After padle boating, I think we stopped by the palace of fine arts and saw a couple of swans. My first time seeing swans so that was nice. The palace of fine arts was really big and kind of weird. I don’t really know why it’s there…but I know that alot of people take wedding pictures there, according to peter. We saw someone taking prom pictures there. After, went grocery shopping and returned to peter’s godparent’s place.

Then shortly after, peter and i decided to go on a little adventure to japan town. we walked to japan town because it was only like four blocks away from where his godparent’s lived. They have alot of cute shops but sadly, most of them were closed (guess we went too late). We’ll go again ;) because I want to go into the stores and get crepes again. So, peter really wanted to take me to japan town because he wanted to be able to experience japan town with me! We ended up getting crepes and they were really yummy. But we’re planning to get crepes again and supposedly, a “even better place.”

Came back, had some pizza for dinner. The pizza shop had love themed pizza names, like ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘First Kiss’ and stuff like that…

Now, I’m writing this up and will go sleep soon. Pictures will be uploaded when I come back and edit this post.
