Every once in awhile, we come to a dead end in our path. And that blockade seems to block everything from our view. Sunshine, happiness, optimism. But instead of sitting there on a stool thinking “sigh. i just wont get to the other side”do something. Think of an alternative way to get to the other side. Climb that wall, break down the wall, find a different route. The focus is to learn to pick yourself up everytime you fall and to see through the wall onto the other side. Dwelling in your misery and sinking low in your chair only adds on to the load of bricks negative thinking on your back.
“I won’t get into my dream school. I’m a failure in life.”
“I wish i did this differently. I made a mistake”
“My boyfriend dumped me. I can’t live without him. I want him back.”
“I’m a horrible girlfriend.”
“My dog died. I’m devastated.”
So what if you won’t get into your dream school? Out of 85 years in life (assuming you live to the age of 85), college only takes up 4 years of those 85 years. You have other chances and opportunities to better yourself. Don’t slouch and give up just because you think you can’t get in. Believe in it. Learn to embrace your faults. Only when you learn to accept yourself for who you are (no matter how many mistakes you’ve made), can you become the person you want to be. Look on the bright side of things. Your boyfriend is with you for a reason and that probably means alot so you’re not a horrible girlfriend. Your dog is in a better place now and snuffy’s had a happy life. Everyone and everything eventually faces death. It’s inevitable. You’ll visit snuffy in dog heaven. (: And he won’t have to face the pain of arthritis.
Everyone gets negative. It’s normal. I do too. (hypocrite, sumo!)
But, the world needs alot more optimism.
It’s never too late to start.
